CBL project Week 3

 During this week, you must:

- Draw a sketch of front, side and top view with some general measurements

- Draw a sketch (3D or the best view possible) of your construction's structure. Identify the resisting elements and the types of effort present in each element. Identufy the types of structures you are using

- Draw at least one complete view with your set squares, at your chosen scale (your teacher will help you), giving an idea of colors and materials

- Publish these 3 drawings on the class padlet. White paper, well presented, write labels. Everything must be published with your team name before Friday the 3rd at midnight. These are the links to the padlets:

You also must start working on your physical model, so bring the materials you will use to class, in a bag. Write down any expenses on a budget paper so you later can work out who owes money to who


And don't forget recording scenes for your final video!!!

ESSENTIAL QUESTION: How can we improve the shool's playground

THESE ARE THE GUIDING QUESTIONS SUGGESTED BY THE TEACHER

 What do you usually do in the playground?

What would you like being able to do in the playground?

What is the purpose of the playground?

What other purposes should the playground have?

What types of relationships originate in the playground?

What other relationships do you think the playground should enhace?

Is the playground distribution fair for everyone?

How does the weather affect the playground?

Is the playground cosy? How could it be cosier?

How can we use what we learned in Technology to improve the playground?

Is the playground a relaxing place? Is it stressful?


THESE ARE THE GUIDING ACTIVITIES SUGGESTED BY THE TEACHER

Drawing a sketch of the area of the playground where you will work (compulsory)

Drawing plans with measurements of the chosen area (compulsory)

Observing the playground at different times of the day

Doing surveys to students, teacher, PAS or families

Taking photos and/or videos of the playground

Finding examples of solutions for similar problems in other contexts

Structures Mind Map - EVALUATION CRITERIA

DEADLINES:

3ºA- Tuesday the 17th of May                            3ºB- Friday the 13th of May

3ºCD- Thursday the 12th of May                        3ºE- Tuesday the 17th of May

NOTE: I will only collect this task on paper and by hand on the assigned dates, not via Teams. If you present in on Teams, I WILL NOT GRADE IT. Presenting the project late will mean -1 point for every day of delay with a maximum of 5 natural days delay.


EVALUATION CRITERIA

CONTENT - The unit's concepts are all included and explained clearly. Concepts are summarised to key words - 3 points

LOGIC - The concepts are structured in a logical and organised manner, easy to understand. Adequate drawings are used to replace text or to clarify concepts - 2 points

PRESENTATION - The mind map looks clean. The handwriting is readable and there are no crossouts, The paper is flat and clear - 2 points

DESIGN - The typographies and drawings are original, related to the unit's concepts. The colors are well chosen to reinforce the ideas and the design - 2 points

ENGLISH - Good grammar and spelling - 1 point (You start from the full point and 0'1 is removed per mistake until a maximum of  point).
